Camping

Troop 61 generally goes camping on the third weekend every month. There are also additional campouts and practice hikes for those hiking a portion of the Appalachian Trail every year. Every year we go to a summer camp out of state. We also offer an alternative in-state summer camp if the scouts or scouters are interested. The campouts that we go on are dependent on what the Scouts want to do. Trips over the years have included: deep sea fishing, horseback riding, canoeing, tubing, rifle shooting, historic battleships and many more. Please check out the calendar for the exact dates of our activities. In addition to your regular campouts we have a group of Scouts that are more interested in High Adventure. This high adventure group is more focused on hiking along with the regular campouts. See our Hiking tab for more info.
