Hiking

Troop 61 Hiking Crew generally begins the hiking season in September and conducts one hike per month, culminating in a 6-day hike of a portion of the Appalachian Trail every year.  Hikes will include requirements for the Hiking and Backpacking Merit Badges, day and overnight hikes respectively.  It usually takes more than one season to obtain both merit badges. Additionally, each year we conduct a hike at Vogel State Park in Georgia as preparation for the Appalachian Trail. Please check out the calendar for the exact dates of our activities.
